A few years ago on Earth-2, a young Hunter, Zolomon, watches as his father kills his mother and then goes to an orphanage. Barry is currently testing a tachyon accelerator and is able to increase his speed four times more than usual. Barry decides to reopen the breach back to Earth-2, and he believes that Cisco's forces are the key to opening the portals. Meanwhile, Caitlin reveals that Jay's doppelganger on Earth-1 is Zolomon, and Wells, shocked by the news, reveals that Zolomon on Earth-2 was a convicted serial killer. Zolomon was receiving electroconvulsive therapy at the time of the explosion and was one of the many injured. With this revelation, the team confirms that "Jay" is Hunter. Cisco opens the gap, and Zoom immediately appears, chasing Barry back to S. T. A. R. Labs. There, Barry uses images of Zolomon's parents to distract him, but Hunter escapes, claiming that he is "the darkness". Zolomon kidnaps Wally and demands Barry's speed in exchange for Wally's life. Barry agrees, and Wells pumps out all of his speed power, leaving Barry powerless. Zolomon introduces the speed force to himself, and he kidnaps Caitlin with his increased speed before escaping.
